Outer Space Themed Classroom

I love the colors black, red & white.
Kids think Outer Space is cool.
Two good reasons to go with an Outer Space themed classroom!

Last year was the first year I tried it and didn't do a whole lot of decorating, but now that I've joined Pinterest (yep, took the plunge) I'm finding lots of cute ideas and am excited to get into my room and start setting up!

Yesterday for Monday Made It!
I posted these two decorations:

How I made the LOST board:
Magnetic board & magnetics from JoAnn Fabrics
(Used coupons, of course!)

Cut letters out of magazines.

How I made the Team Commander statues:
Bucket from the Target Dollar Bins (took out the handle).
Recycled tissue paper, crumpled up and glued on.

Here are some other ideas I've come up with:

Lanterns were on clearance at Pier 1 and I added spray paint.
You add AA batteries and flip a switch to make it glow!
I'll hang one over each table grouping.
A yellow lantern will hang over my desk
as the "Sun"!
My husband was getting
rid of this so I spray painted
the base and top.
Window Clings from
the Dollar Tree

I'm on the hunt for more great ideas,
share 'em if you have 'em!

  1. I love black and white too! I found the talk points online at Learning Resources. They were 34.99 but well worth it.
